Art - Of a Different Kind

As Christians we are called to be “of a different kind” - “new creature[s]” (2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV): more like Christ and less like our natural egos, and compelled to serve God more than we serve ourselves. The story of the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4) shows us who Jesus really is and how it is that he makes us new creatures. Jesus reveals that he is the Messiah of the Jews (but a different kind of King who will defeat a different kind of enemy), and the Messiah of the Samaritans (a prophet, but of a different kind - God incarnate) who will restore true worship (but of a different kind - in Spirit and truth) in a place of a different kind (in the interior of man and not a geographical location). It is Jesus Christ who gives water (but of a different kind - an internal wellspring a.k.a. the Holy Spirit) that leads to life (but of a different kind - eternal life).
