Art - The King’s Heart

Inspired by Proverbs 21:1, KJV:

“The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.”

The ancient Greeks have long understood that there are many different forms of love, each characterizing human connection differently… This digital artwork expands upon a way the Lord turns hearts - altogether transforming the form of one’s affection rather than just turning the object of one’s affection from one thing to another. Our worldly natures long to obtain and hold on to our desires. But God invites us to a much more virtuous kind of love - the kind that self-gives out of charity.

The king’s image is recognized as a created thing - the very dyed water that created it (a force more “real”) flows across the tapestry, altering the image (heart) with the same force that created it in the first place.
